Thirty-nine works by Bethlehem art students were part of an art installation by Sacramento artist Janice Nakashima, exhibited in midtown’s Axis G
allery in May, 2009. The following year, a video of the installation was shown to participating artists at Dar Annadwa. Some of the Bethlehem artists are students at the Dar Kalima College in Bethlehem. 
In May 2010 during the Sister City Agreement signing ceremony in Bethlehem, the Sacramento delegation presented a watercolor of the Sacramento River, painted by Ms. Nakishima. The inscription below the painting reads: In Friendship, to the people of Bethlehem from the people of Sacramento.

Students at de La Salle School in Bethlehem and Our Lady of Assumption School in Carmichael participated in email exchanges in 2009. The following year, those Our Lady of As
sumption
School students had bake sales which enabled 25 olive trees to be planted in the Bethlehem region through the Keep Hope Alive Olive Tree Campaign. The trees were planted by Palestinian youth in the Bethlehem area on Land Day, 2010.

Two Sacramentans who lived in Bethlehem months started a vegetable garden and composting project at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner Children's village in Bethlehem.

In April 2009, a prominent sign board for tourists visiting the Nativity Church and Manger
Square was installed as a joint project of the City of Bethlehem, the Bethlehem Peace Center, and the Sacramento to Bethlehem Sister City Initiative. In November 2010, informational postcards developed in collaboration with Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem were made available to tourists at a nominal charge through the Bethlehem Peace Center.
