SacramentoBethlehem Sister City was founded in friendship 
with our sisters and brothers in Bethlehem, Palestine.  

We are an all volunteer organization of Sacramento area residents.   Our interest is developing connections and friendships with the people of Bethlehem.  

Sacramento's relationship with Bethlehem, Palestine is officially recognized by Sister Cities International  and we are members of the Sacramento Sister City Council.

What are Sister Cities: 
Sister Cities or "twining" cities have existed since post WWI, however, the concept took root in the United States after President Dwight Eisenhower’s 1956 White House conference on citizen diplomacy.   Sister City relationships are based on cultural and educational exchanges, and can include economic partnerships and/or humanitarian assistance.  Each relationship is uniqe taking its shape through projects and exchanges designed and carried out by volunteer citizen participation.
